Information for Federal Workers / Contractors

This public webpage is designed to support RLC members including RR families who are part of the Federal workforce or have been recently affected by layoffs. We will update this page regularly so please check back here to learn of resources available that we are able to pass along to you. If there is something that you want to see on this page, please contact church@redeemermclean.org.

We are planning ways to best support congregational members affected by the recent government layoffs. To help with this, we’re hoping you‘ll take a few minutes to fill out our survey and share your thoughts both on how we, as a congregation, can help, and how you, individually, might be willing to support the affected members.

Below are websites with information for individuals affected by recent federal workforce actions:

  • Theaters across the Washington, DC area are offering free and discounted tickets to federal workers affected by layoffs and furloughs. Please visit this link for a list of participating theaters.

  • St. Thomas Episcopal Church is offering an 8-week support group for federal workers and contractors affected in any way by current administrative policies. Use this link to sign up; space is limited.

  • Congressman Don Beyer has distributed a list of events such as Transferrable Skills Workshops and Job Fairs in Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County, and the District of Columbia. His email with these resources is available here.
